Falgot assumes the service's judgments are incorrect when it claims Baby Cakes is right and his father is wrong and bails out all who are labeled as wrong, with one worker, Derrick, tagging along. When Derrick witnesses Leonard and his son working their father-son relationship out by talking things out with each other, he sees that people are capable of working their own relationships out. Thinking that this means that Total Validation is no longer necessary, Derrick vows to destroy the building.
